Edit: I missed you said teleport interface. Yes, it has been extremely slow, especially on stations. Or seems less slow in my small bases.

I have been gating all over, trying to claim a space station, while cooking some doughnuts. So bouncing between half a dozen bases for ingredients and missions.

I do not feel it is there much slower than it was. Nothing I have ever timed though.

There is far more control over the game mode now. I believe you can disable the storylines.

There's no player economy, but the lastest update allows you to 'buy' space stations, which is a massive money sink: efficient farming is crucial to fund a station buying spree.

Also, if you haven't played since before expeditions: they're very cool self-contained story lines.

I have played nms for a few hundred hours and i have two problems. Let me know if these have been fixed since i last played a year ago.

    1. The story sucks ass and i want a way to fully disable all story related content/quests. The quest system is horrible and clutters your screen so if you cant disable them or delete them, they will just always stick around and annoy the shit out of me. I just want to have an empty quest list for once please.

    2. Absent of a meaningful story, building and exploring is fun, but i feel like what this game needs is a proper global economy that lets players trade with each other. Thats gonna give people motivation to find cool rare stuff and ways to farm stuff efficiently. And it will create the vibe of everyone playing in the same universe even if they arent actually.

And to those who knowingly do it anyway (farm bases etc. excluded) a pox on your house, especially comms at waypoints, no-one wants to read your message.

Your options are get in there hour one or suck up not being able to see your goal. It's not the end of the world, but it is annoying. Being able to turn it off would be awesome.

I like the trade route idea. Tie it into the new space station ownership so there's more of a function to that. Even if it just turns out to be a way to have a centralized location to collect resources from my various mining bases, I'm all for it.

One big issue I saw brought up recently is that there's at least 4 activities in the game called "salvage"

    • Buried salvage (like the containers for Corvette parts)
    • Planetary salvage (garbageman gameplay on those same planets) *Deep space salvage (hulks and invested stations added with cosmos
    • Derelict freighters get referred to as a salvaging activity at times too, I think And none of them have any connection to each other, probably confusing new players. They should at least add a salvage guild at this point to tie them together.

  • I've been able to get more than just an hour of enjoyable game play out of most of the major updates, and really, that's more than fine with me. I've had a lot of enjoyable hours in this game and I love that they are still pushing updates to it... this just makes me look forward to Light No Fire all the more.

I downloaded it, played it for about an hour. It's a nice addition but it's typical NMS. Gameplay is shallow.

I still think if you haven't played it, this is a good time to jump in. And the additions are probably great with friends. But I was bored after an hour.

Totally meant to reply(tm) to this post but kept forgetting. Definitely will retry the link when I have the time. But yeah corvettes you can build like a base with the snapping system, while starships (which is more akin to a fighter jet, while corvettes are like a private plane with an interior) can be scrapped and reassembled

    And some screenshots
    nYoyKIwac2HaKtJ.jpg
This is a very old design when the rear engine was just a ramp piece upside down with two engine
    ibYvKt7HoutjMC3.jpg
And this was much more recent with the engine design I had before, kinda between whats now on the ship and that previous iteration

Now I just need to figure out how to taper it in on the front

This post turned out to be much longer than I anticipated, maybe one paragraph on the whole thing, but like i said i suuuuuuck at building but thank god the one build that can move (freighter doesn't really count, also not happy with the build so doesn't matter either way)

But I forgot to mention my other favorite part beside the holo door on the top. The front engines, no idea how I did this and I can't recreate it, are two arcadia wings (also on the rear engines, and below the captains quarters windows, yes i have a favorite) back to back, an atlas engine and reactor inside those (and on top and bottom is where the infraknife and cyclotron sit) and also as of recently, one ramp hull piece to make the wings not held to the "engine" by a pixel

to give those arcadia wings on the hull and rear engine some love, the both have that vent piece which i think looks LOVELY, with the hulls having that extension piece

When the game was first coming out I just knew it was over-hyped and wouldn't live up to people's expectations. I avoided it and had so many friends tell me I was wrong. It had the launch that it had and I was smug that my gut feeling was right.

Years later I was bored looking for something to play and saw it had a number of updates and I was able to buy a copy for £8. I thought why not, dirt cheap and could waste a few hours.

    I was hooked.

I love to see the passion of Hello Games in making this game what they envisioned it to be and more. I have got so much out of the game yet looking back I paid so little, if they were to release a paid expansion I would gladly pay it to support them. I will be eagerly awaiting Light no Fire.

I played it for the first time five years ago after tons of content had been added, and really liked it. A year ago I played it for a second time, and I loved it.

The atmosphere and mechanics are just so immersive!

Now I want to play it again, I guess I will sink 100 hours into it once more.

It still amazes me how, with enough passion by the developers, a product can go from utterly shit to brilliantly executed.
