This is a weird kirk of mastodon, it is probably because of a hashtag you follow. Yes they do not show hashtag but still. I get a lot of posts from Lemmy community where there aren't any hashtag. For exemple try searching #linux on mastodon, and find a Lemmy post, you won't see any hashtags yet the posts shows here. My guess is that web.bridgy does the same thing as lemmy, probably a hidden tag or some sort that mastodon doesn't show because it is not in the body?

I hear you. But you are on the wrong instance then. mastodon.social is known for its spamming and hostile account and the lack of moderator responsibilities. I have personally blocked mastodon.social on instance level because of this.

fosstodon.org is better in my honest opinion.

I know but I expect my mastodon server to be transparent, without dark practices. If worst case came to be, they are trying to manipulate people by injecting posts, and this is a deal breaker for me.

I love how the fediverse moves with care instead of "break stuff and move quick". I'm sure this might turn some people off but social media should not be taken lightly, specially with all the news on how it affects us.

    Keep it up Mastodon!

cleared cookies for mastodon.social and can now log in, but can't post due to '503'.

ed: actually, a few tries later was able to post. guess service is spotty right now.

    AI

AI is super useful to disabled people! I was wondering the same when I saw the image text to text feature, seems like so little difference, maybe it uses too much computing power when run private and local for now or something?
