Researchers from Revel Pharmaceuticals succeeded to demonstrate partial reversal of AGEs, a nonfunctional bastardized molecules which causes things like stiff arteries (causing high blood pressure) and non-elastic skin.

For long time they was considered as permanent. Not anymore!

Even more importantly, the researchers have created a special platform that can be used for similar research for other types of AGEs. So, we can work and solve them step by step.

Good dental health is linked to heart and brain health.

But... Are you cleaning all sides of your teeth properly? E.g. a regular toothbrush can't get in between teeth 🤔

Consult your dentist.

I use different types of cleaners for different parts of my teeth.

Abstract

Optimal sleep has a vital role in promoting healthy ageing and enhancing longevity. Here we propose Sleep Chart to assess the relationship between self-reported sleep duration and 23 biological ageing clocks derived from in vivo imaging, plasma proteomics and metabolomics. First, a systemic, U-shaped pattern emerges between sleep duration and biological age gaps across nine brain and body systems and three omics technologies. The sample-specific lowest biological age gaps are achieved between 6.4 and 7.8 h of sleep duration, varying by organ and sex in the UK Biobank (aged 37–84 years). Furthermore, short (<6 h) and long (>8 h) sleep duration, compared with a normal sleep duration (6–8 h), are associated with increased risk of systemic diseases beyond the brain and all-cause mortality, with evidence from genetic correlations and time-to-incident survival predictions, such as depression and diabetes. Finally, the pathways by which long and short sleep duration are associated with late-life depression differ: ageing clocks may partially mediate the pathway for long sleep duration, while short sleep duration shows a more direct link. Although Mendelian randomization does not provide strong evidence that disease causally affects sleep, it cannot completely exclude such reverse causality. Our findings suggest a cross-organ, multi-omics U-shaped relationship between sleep duration and biological ageing clocks, highlighting the potential of sleep optimization to promote healthy ageing, lower disease risk and extend longevity.

Abstract

The gut tissue is at the frontline of early onset of ageing. It exhibits high cell turnover rates and rapid telomere shortening, which can have systemic effects on the developing or senescing organism. We conducted a literature review of studies on the crosstalk between telomere length dynamics, telomerase activity, oxidative stress, and gut microbiota composition and activity in animals. Studies mainly on humans and animal models include correlations between telomere dynamics and gut microbiome components, particularly under pathogenic conditions, but also manipulations of either the gut microbiome through faecal microbiota transplantations or of telomere dynamics using telomerase knockout models. This synthesis reveals that components of the gut microbiome including microbial metabolites and pathogenic bacteria can affect telomere dynamics through oxidative-stress-inducing processes, and that telomere maintenance is critical in maintaining gut barrier and tissue integrity, which link inflammation and gut dysbiosis. Some of the interactions between the gut microbiome and host telomere dynamics are bidirectional and important in maintaining intestinal homeostasis. However, many of the causal molecular or cellular mechanisms – and how they translate into organismal senescence – remain to be identified. Furthermore, we highlight how recent advances in whole genome sequencing capacities and bioinformatic tools represent an often-unexploited resource for measuring telomere lengths and may be particularly valuable tools within the hologenomic framework outlined here. Investigating the role of telomere dynamics in mediating gut microbiota–host interactions in different species will improve our understanding of how crosstalk between these hallmarks of ageing shape holobiont physiology in general and the ageing phenotype in particular.

IF some effective longevity therapy is developed, the poors will never get it. It won't be for sale at any price, to anyone. It will be handed out by whomever controls it to buy political power and loyalty. Also, its existence will not be made public until years after it happens, to give enough time for those who control it to consolidate power. The first signs will be that Bezos, or whoever, still looks surprisingly good for an 80-year-old, in fact he looks more like 50. Has cosmetic surgery gotten that good?

Told you you wouldn't like it.

Aubrey de Grey, the lead author of the damage repair method, will be speaking at the Precision Medicine World Conference 2026.

His topic will be combining longevity interventions already validated in animal trials with personalized optimization.

Andrew Steele @statto@mas.to, a known longevity author and campaigner, in his new video proposes 3 steps for being healthy longer.

Firsts are pretty obvious:

  1. eat healthy
  2. exercise regularly

The last is non-obvious, but IMO much more powerful: 3) support organisations that are putting longevity into public awareness in trustworthy way

We are currently limited by interventions that we (humankind) know. These have severe limitations, eg. healthy lifestyle can extent life by maybe 10 years if you are pretty serious about it and maybe have a bit of genetic and environmental luck.

For staying healthy and vital for longer we need new medical technology, interventions. These are not going to develop themselves, but need scientists. And scientists needs support for their work. So organisations spreading awareness and public desire for new, robust longevity interventions have a high leverage.

Andrew recently co-founded such organization called The Longevity Iniatitive. I invite you to look its website and also follow it on various channels (not yet in Fediverse, to my best knowledge 😕).
