I'm not saying all cats are arseholes, but they are...

You can't train a cat to come to you if it doesn't want to. If a cat comes to you it's because it likes you. and somehow that is immensely cute, and they also look cute, and are soft and furry and warm, and they don't smell bad like dogs can. πŸ˜€

PS:
Not to diss dogs, dogs have other things that make us love them too.

I tend to take things at face value unless they really stick out to me. It came around to slap me in the face recently when the very last chapter of a book was like "hey remember how this whole book is told by an incredibly unreliable narrator?"

Women writing fiction: "this standard woman, with high cheekbones, green eyes like olives, ginger curls she spends no time caring for and it is constantly a mess all time (definitely not metaphor for the character's inner conflict). She's just a writer who received a letter from a mysterious family asking her to leave her life of friends and writers block. Because of her new england uprising she...

Idk if it's because I've listened (audiobooks) to a few women writers writing horror but every plot started melding together, and they're all using the same names too. How many Hattie's do you know irl?

I think you hit the nail on the head. Actually, maybe that explains why you can seemingly only rarely find meals that all the (young) kids in a family like- kids develop a taste for the things they eat frequently, so ostensibly the same household should have a bunch of overlap, but at least in my circles, juvenile siblings have very different preferences.

Though to be fair, the surviving members of my childhood household have basically zero dietary overlap now as adults, mostly not by choice (there are four of us: one's vegan and can’t digest much fat, one’s got a heart condition, one’s got fiber-sensitive IBS, and one’s got celiac’s. The first two or the last two can share a meal easily, but all four of us could only really eat baked tofu, carrots, and zucchini, which doesn’t excite any of us). Maybe it’s just more evident in kids because A) people are generally watching to make sure they get all the food groups, and B) it’s more common that parents want to only make one common meal for daily family dinners, whereas adults are more likely to do potluck style dinners with multiple options on weekends with sufficient preparation time. The four opposing diets aren’t a problem for my family, we just make sure to really clean our workspace before cooking anything for the one with celiac’s, tend to eat fruit (possibly cooked) and chocolate for dessert, and make people take leftovers home.

It's fascinating to me how some people seemed to be hardwired to need to restrict things from their diet without an obvious biological need. Maybe it's certain media, music, shows, foods, carbs, high fat, low fat, violent video games, animal products, dairy (but are lactose tolerant), problematic actors, problematic directors, AI slop, made in a specific country, etc.

I think it must be an evolutionary advantage somehow that if X% of your local tribe is into something to decide to restrict it from your diet. Plenty of times a majority of a tribe was probably into eating or doing something that turned out to be dangerous or toxic or medium term damaging. The people who were sticks in the mud about that thing ended up safe from its effect.

  • Hello, nerd who likes reading about this dumb shit here:

If we're counting sects that Christians have killed off (literally, by murder), there is a huge slew of entities discussed, and in quite a number, God the creator is the bad guy using the physical realm to torture souls.

LIST PLEASE, LIST ME NOW, what search? Need to learn more! MORE!

To have your protagonist MC sexually assault a teenage girl

Is it bad that the only way I know you don't mean Muhammed is because Aisha was 9 when they married and 11 when they copulated so that doesn't count as "teen"age? Seems like that be happening in the Abrahamic faiths. I'm starting to think they might all be bad not just the one.

  • Well technically that only applies to trinitarian sects but thanks for grouping all Christians together and proving my point in another argument. (Not criticising, I do it too, I'm told "nobody does" and my counter argument is "bro I've been alive a long time, everyfuckingbody does.")

Also Book of Esther, Book of Ruth.

I mean, I cited three different sorts of a very narrow set of beliefs, and also mentioned that Christianity has a lot of lesser (or greater) deities.

The main point of my post is that LDS beliefs are still in the mainstream while christians still literally murdered a huge number of other established sects. Some that were older than the Mormon church is today.

The main point is it's all fucking fairytales, and any inkling of hegemony is only because of a massive history of murder.
