Dunno honestly, but I'll probably go with the advice of going to a brick and mortar store and decide there.

Been there, done that π I got Roland V-Drums (td1kv). I see there are newer sets out there now, make sure your snare has a mesh head, the rest depending on your budget. I feel like though the material was different, Roland did their best to provide as much βanalogβ experience in digital drums as possible (mute cymbals with hand, different sounds for hitting different parts of the drumhead, hi-hat having preassure-sensitive pedal in stead of only making the distinction between open and closed). Also, room/housemates will still hear that you are playing, they just wonβt hear drum sounds. The neighbors wonβt complain though π
It really depends on your budget?
this. do NOT buy stuff online unless you know exactly the quality, sound and whatnot.
looks are useless to judge anything on honestly.. actual build quality must be seen and experienced in person.
this applies to a LOT of things. online shopping usually results in garbage
Bite the bullet, find a brick and mortar music store and physically handle the choices.
Something might look fine online, but feel terrible when you try to play it.
I have an Alesis Nitro set, and have been very pleased with them.
I havent't played the drums since like 2013. I need some recommendations for digital drum sets.
I guess maybe that's a common trait, the veneer has peeled from the edges of mine as well. I thought I might use a heat gun to remove the rest and see if I can't finish what's underneath.
rockstars are okay. they sound fine but the veneer is coming off
correct! Heck yeah
these weird old concert series toms or something. i believe they were modified to accept the second drum head on the bottom?
currently the same diameter as the current tama floor tom but a bit shorter
That's a large side-tom :-) Looks like a 14"?
I use basically the same era Tama setup. Got it from a pawn shop in the late 90s.
