This is such a dumb dismissal, it makes the assumption that all leftists are the same that all leftists are good. They aren't Authoritarian leftists are not good in any way. They do not strive for anything we strive for and they promote authoritarian regimes who seek to abolish our rights. I don't understand how Hexbears can be so favorable to Russia, a country who's anti-LGBTQ oppression is hundreds of times worse than what's going on in America right now.

I'm not really familiar with this specific drama, but "Tankies surprised anarchists don't like them" reads like an onion headline. They call it leftist infighting, but "my boot is rainbow colored 🥺👉👈" has never really convinced anyway.

You'll get no tears from me, we need less tolerance of tankies. Good on you though for stepping down voluntarily. A lot of other people in your position might cause lots of friction and drama over a long period of time, before being removed by vote.

Their admins disclosed in a comment that ip addresses are stored by the Lemmy database, and were exposed.

It looks like IP addresses are stored in the DB in lemmy. It's possible that the attacker had access to those IPs, but we don't believe they accessed them. This is the sort of thing we would turn off if we could :\

I'd say it worked mostly well for the Subscribed view. The problem is there is no way (that I could find) to set it as default for Subscribed while leaving the others to other settings (eg.: Local on New, All on Popular).

Lemmy in previous version changed something in the way source ips are handled. Maybe it's related to that

It's rather a bit dead these days, but during the days of the API shutdown, and for a little bit after, it was basically meant to be the Lemmy alternative to the Reddit Star Trek communities.

Unfortunately, it never really got enough traction to do very much at all.

There is a strange rate limit error affecting multiple instances right now (at least db0, blahaj and slrpnk), and the Lemmy-ui doesn't show proper error messages 🤦
