That top image on the page... I swear I've been in that specific thrift shop. The signage. The layout of the place. The little changing rooms thing with the boxes on top. The furniture area over at the left side of the image.

Oh. Well this is a lame link.

I suppose I could mess with the bot and get it to exclude pages with (disambiguation) in the title. 🤔 I dunno. Maybe I'll do that at some point. Or maybe this kind of thing is part of the fun.

I kindof hope the Mary Kline Still Life appears in the next film.

Similar to the Archibald Leland Sutter Still Life, it is possible that the Mary Kline Still Life is completely immobile and confined to its chair.

Seems unlikely to me. Given that the Archibald Still Life is in a wheelchair, it's pretty certain that the Frontrooms human (who presumably exists or once existed) that the Archibald Still Life is (imperfectly) copied from also exclusively uses a wheelchair. That's probably why the Archibald Still Life never walks.

Mind you, the Bearded Still Life doesn't ever stand or walk or move, but the Redheaded Still Life stood very still except in a few specific circumstances. My guess is that the Bearded Still Life and/or the Mary Kline Still Life may well be capable of movement and may well demonstrate that in sequels.

Oh yeah. This is a good one. Exemplifies the reason why I built the bot in the first place. So I'd have a reason to stumble onto more lore like this on an ongoing basis rather than depending on me randomly thinking "hey, I should look at Backrooms stuff".

It's interesting to me that with the default expression of this phenomenon, the higher-numbered levels feel "higher" in altitude than the lower-numbered levels and not the other way around. It feels a lot of other lore seems to hint that the Level 0 (the "Lobby" or "Threshold") is below The Frontrooms and other levels in increasing number are successively lower. For instance, in some of Kane's lore, there's one person who noclips through the floor in their garage and ends up in Level 0. But the page in the OP does specifically mention that some wanderers experience Numberation in the opposite direction, so that sounds like a nod to the fact that different fans of The Backrooms feel differently in their own head canons about the altitude of the levels.

Oh, huh. I didn't realize "Random Page" could give us meta content, but that's what the bot got today. I guess I'll keep it, though. If it becomes annoying or problematic, I might see if there's something I can do to filter such posts out. But for now, it is kindof interesting to get posts like this, I think. Definitely feel free to respond with (dis)agreement, though.

That post isn't the latest "Backrooms Report". The latest is here.

The Ladder Room is an area that Kane Pixels encountered in The Backrooms (Found Footage).

Oh jeez. That word "encountered" confused me. I feel like I've missed the whole point all this time. "Kane Pixels" is a self-insert character in Kane Parsons' canon. Super cool.

Two posts about songs by Kane Pixels in a row. Luck of the draw, I guess.

I made the Backrooms bot, and right now the way it works is that it picks randomly between the Kane Pixels fandom wiki, the non-Kane-Pixels-specific fandom wiki, and the Wikidot wiki, then it grabs a random page from the chosen wiki and posts it here to Lemmy.

Maybe I should change it to make it rotate through the three different wikis rather than choosing randomly.

But, meh. This is probably good enough.

I'm planning to publish the source code of the bot under the AGPL sometime soon-ish. It's written in Go and it's kindof in two parts -- a "framework"/library generally for making whatever Lemmy bots you might want to make and another codebase that has the Fandom/Wikidot specific logic in it and all that. Both written from scratch by me.

I'm also working on another bot using the same framework. I probably won't publish any of it until either the other bot is working and in use or I give up on the other bot for some reason. Just because as I'm writing the other bot, I'm also improving the framework. I figure it makes the most sense to publish the framework once it's more "done". But yeah. Soon-ish, probably.
