Just wanted to show off our Cargowagen.

We've had this for 9 months or so, and just ticked over 2,200km before taking this photo.

The trailer is an unrelated brand "croozer". It fit's my twins nicely and has a max cap of 40kg. I swapped out the standard tyres for 2.5i squishy ones for a more comfortable ride - it's always going over kerbs and sometimes one wheel is off the tarmac.

The bike was costly - about 8 weeks average wage in Australia.

The furthest we have travelled in a day is 54km. That was about 90% of a single charge on one battery. The bike does have a slot for a second battery which I don't use presently.

I do use it to drop the kids at day care, but by far most of the kms have just been cruising around. It's a great way to get some exercise, and get the three of us out of the house so mum has a break.

Our twins are toddlers, about 20 months old. It's not easy to keep them entertained but they're happy enough to sit in the trailer for a couple of hours provided we take a break. They do love zooming around in this thing and are always excited when they see me starting to get ready.

I have five credits on audible and looking to discontinue the service since I don't use it too much (believe I lose the credits if I haven't spent them when I discontinue). Looking for some recs to spend my five on before I discontinue. I'm open to anything except straight up school textbooks/self-help/religion and political guides/so much porn uptime headphones are absolutely required in a house with other people lol.

Rn my library is The Martian and Project Hail Mary, some He Who Fights With Monsters, American Gods, some The Hangman's Daughter and The Faithful Executioner. My non-audible libraries cover a wide range like a history of Charlie Chaplain fighting spiritualists, Greek BC city state warfare, Star Trek novels, The Princess Diaries and Percy Jackson series, Andrew Lang's fairy books, Water Margin, Altered Carbon, etc so really wide open to suggestions from across the board.

The final 6 books have been numbered out of main continuity, because the labelled 40th is the first children's novel in the series, and 41-45 are a miniseries, also for children. However, the file metadata is all in release order, so if viewed in Explorer they will order themselves by release.

Just finished the most recent Dungeon Crawler Carl book and look for suggestions! I also am a big fan of John Scalzi, especially those narrated by Wil Wheaton.

He is probably one of my favorite authors and I love Fuzzy Nation. I also swear he must have been a lawyer in another life.

For me it was Audibles "The Great Courses - Ancient Egypt" with Egyptologist Bob Brier. It's 24h long but it is really worth it.

Just saw there is a new Dungeon Crawler Carl book out. Hopefully they have the audiobook out soon. That may be one of most favorite series.

So in the past few months I've consumed three body trilogy, the bobiverse, expanse series, dogs of war (meh), quantum earth x2 (meh) and project hail Mary. I really enjoyed most of these, with dark Forest being my favourite read lately. What should be in my reading list next, as I get close to the end of the expanse books?

I've been listening to a bunch of audiobooks from the public library here recently and there are various levels of production effort. I listened to a Star Wars audiobook (Alphabet Squadron) when I needed something simple for a flight and was blown away by the amount of sound effects (lasers, start ships flying around, environmental sounds etc) and different characters. Is there a term for this?

Some examples:

• Basic narration: One voice artist, maybe they do different voices for characters and narration. Maybe not.
• Multiple artists: Different characters get voiced by different actors. It might be for different POV chapters or even line by line when characters speak to each other.
• Sound effects: Environmental sounds (wind, rain, cafe chatter etc), event sounds (alarms, gun shots, etc), audio effects (speaking with radio effect, echos, cave sounds)
• Music: In the Star Wars book there was even background music for the various characters. Wow! Also the Star Wars into music is always welcome.

I guess it's way more expense to do it this way and would love some more examples of good audio production.

I'll start. Especially since DCC5 ebook drops on the 3rd, andI just finished a second listen to books 1-4.

Dungeon Crawler Carl is my vote for a top tier audiobook with complete chaos
