Welcome to America. Now, where is your kid gonna work?

The correct text was: "I'm using a sick day." Full stop.
Once I was at the hospital because my mom went into the ER with septic shock, critical state. As the night went I realized I wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, so I called my manager and told them I wasn't going to be able to come in. Should have stopped there, but in the moment I mentioned that I was with my mom and she was in ICU. The next day I was at work I asked about covering that day with sick time. "Oh, you weren't sick, so I can't give that to you."
Cops and management. Never tell them more than you have to. Managers love taking your time from you, even in the same breathe of talking about how people-centric they are.
Does you job allows planning? You know, "Today I need to do A, B, C"? Make a list, follow it. Helps with a huge pile of tiny tasks tremendously. And don't rush. Is it your business? No? So whose problem that something is impossible to be done during working hours? Correct -- not yours.
Oh yeah, that's why I hate using the credit card. Thanks for the reminder.
What happened? Did he again open his mouth? :)
This has happened to me too. Except it was an actual gift card. They had to send another email telling everyone that it was legit
"Your boss doesn't know what they're doing either"
Well, that certainly seems to be true in my experience. The smarter ones avoid trying to micromanage you.
Fuck Dara Khosrowshahi.
The beatings will continue until morale improves!
Coworker had family in Hawaii during the fire a few years ago. I said hi to her once. I gave her family $100.
I mean, we could help them out…

The contract will also give a $1,500 payment to permanent employees and increase the union’s minimum wage to $30.10 by April 2029. The agreement also includes annual wage increases amounting to 19% and additional 8% step increases over the life of the contract.
a ballot measure that would support housing for UC employees gathered enough signatures to appear on the California ballot in November, according to AFSCME Local 3299’s website. The University of California Support Staff Down Payment Loans measure would require the UC to create a down payment loan system for first-time homebuyers who have worked for the University for at least five years.
Anyone that says unions don't work, print this out and slap them with it.
I WISH my rent was 1500
They don’t say the presence has to be YOU

Bushart was arrested in September after he refused to take down Facebook memes that joked about Kirk’s killing

Too many billionaire simps
I'm dealing with this shit too. My boyfriend is going through a depression that can't be solved by just working through it. He checked himself into a mental institute Saturday night, but he checked himself out on Monday morning so he could go to work. He was not ready to check out yet. He should have stayed in until he was ok, but he has to work so he can even pay rent or eat. There's nothing I can do because I'm in another state trying to save to get to him. I'm working minimum wage at only 5-6 hours a day because I have to take the bus and the bus doesn't run after 6. It's so damn hard watching him go through this and knowing that if he just stays in, he would start being ok, but money gets in the way of his health. It's such bullshit
Inconceivable.
Thank you :)
