Btw Piefed has a feature where you could blur posts by bots. Does that exist on Lemmy or the one you have?

Anyway, I usually browse for the ones i subscribed to but i do check out from all fediverse to see if there's any new ones to subscribe to. I don't see any recommendations or algorithms here.

Both can be hijacked. Although i never heard of someone saying this before except in Syria's case which is kinda true. I mean when those "revolutions" get hijacked, doesn't mean the people on the ground are faking it or they're just on the streets for fun. It's just that most people can be herded by cheap slogans and stuff like that and usually have the mentality of putting the blame on a single person instead of an entire system as if one person could control everything which is absolutely impossible. The Syria's case was different since Russians and pro-Assads were probably the main funders of those who fueled that narrative. Anyway i am just rambling here. I know this is a meme.

I am not native English speaker but the first two sound pretty nice, almost close to native? The last one gives off the slavic accent at the very beginning. All of them sound okay and don't have the ridiculous accent of slavs you see in movies and films.

Thank you. It's really a headache to run a server or a website these days from what I'm reading. Has it always been like that, excluding the price of hosting ofc?

Not American but what about competing billionaires, those who have different interest etc.? they are not single group, same to everywhere, or perhaps a show to give the people the illusion of choice like Pepsi and Cola or that they're in democracy. Wasn't there a research paper that called US is basically ruled by an oligarchy? It wasn't some kind of a conspiracy site but a research group or something like that.

Yea I do remember the donald, they weren't really incel though, just a political sub if i am not wrong. Incels had their own subs as well that got purged at the time along with many ones as well. What was good about Reddit back then was that the platform allowed freedom to a large extent, didn't bother as long as it wasn't something in your face that violated the rules, either that, or they didn't care back then.

True. For me, the quality there pretty much degraded around 2015-6 or at least that was when i started to notice the increase of bot use and such, but some would say it was even before that when one of its founder died. Even after that period it was still tolerable compared to what we have now.

Definitely. Just additional information for users who use Windows, Simplewall which is basically a GUI of the built-in firewall of Windows but it does its job well. I'm sure there's something like that for Linux too. Hostman is also a good tool although not sure if it's still getting updated where you can put blocked IPs, ones used with Ublock for example, into the host file of Windows. And lastly, from your router, but this method I have never tried it and neither mine support it.

  • Hey everyone! (piefed.zip)

Hey, I am new here, just created this account, but don't know where to start. I'm new to this whole Fediverse thing. This doesn't look like Reddit, although i am aware that the main instance of Lemmy has an interface that looks similar to old Reddit. Yeah, that's it. Just wanted to drop by and say hello. If you have any suggestions about using this site, I’d be happy to know.
