Agreed! I really think it boils down to what John Lennon said: "Time enjoyed wasting is not wasted".

I interpret it as going beyond enjoyment, it is not beneficial anymore. Actual boredom degrades the brain, but it is also not enjoyed (as you are feeling bored, which is not nice).

Excellent. That's your initial observation. Now formulate a testable hypothesis, operationalise your variables, design a controlled experiment, collect sufficient data, replicate your findings, and submit your results for peer review.

Get back to us when you do.

I think his argument against books is better explained as that he was against the mindless consumption of media? Absorbing information without discussing it through spoken word. He must have been all for using art and literature as a means to express ideas, that's what he did.

Then putting this up against new technologies becomes more interesting.

Yes exactly this, this has been bothering me for so long and I did not want them to win! But in the end I value my healthy and safety more than my sense of justice, I feel like such a sellout.

They are like sunglasses that filter out bright blue / white light but do not darken everything so you can use them at night. They improve contrast and reduce eye fatigue.

Search for: "LED headlight glare reduction glasses" or just "night driving glasses" and you'll see many of these yellow tinted glasses.

I hope they'll do the trick!

I actually bought special night driving glasses today because of exactly this.

It took me a while to buy something just because of other people's stupid headlights.

Good arguments for small-scale, sustainable and ecologically responsible livestock farming. These points can't be made for intensive livestock farming.

Cattle grazing on fresh grass, well-managed pastures with healthy water systems, grazing in natural areas, and thriving soil organisms are all part of a farming system that works with nature, not against it

Sorry if this is the wrong sub but I guess it is spider related...

I was just amazed by the brutality of this spider wasp on my zucchini plant. It paralyses the spider and drags it to a "pot" it made before, lays eggs inside the living spider and then closes the lid.

Does anyone of you guys know what kind of spider it is?
