For the competent writer, its a useful way to introduce higher and higher stakes. You can even subvert the power scaling by having the protagonist defeat the more powerful foe through intellect or technique (Dragon Ball Z did this a lot).

However, if the writer isn't careful, the power scaling starts to lose meaning as the protagonist and his foes reach unimaginable heights of power.

TLDR: powerscaling is fine as a trope; it depends on how it is used.

Marx explains that the primary use of capital is to accumulate more capital. No one who invests money is satisfied with an equal or lesser value in return. Note that this is disanalogous to a direct exchange of goods. If I give you a coat and you give me a chair, we are satisfied with the trade because the use-values are heterogenous even though the exchange-value is homogenous and [if the trade is fair] equivalent. But there is no reason to exchange $100 for $100 because the two are the same. (This is not to say we should go back to the barter system: the point is that capitalist commodity production leads to capital, which leads to an expectation of infinite profits.) Once you have a pile of money, you can either sit on it or you can throw it back into the market in an effort to get more money.

Marx argues that, under capitalism, money itself becomes fetishized, since the owners of private commodity production pursue ever greater profit. More precisely, they pursue more surplus-value to appropriate from the value created by the labor-power they purchase from workers.

Reforms along the way to revolution is good because it enables more people to materially engage

I invite you to expand on your thoughts more here. It seems to me that we tried this shit with Bernie Sanders after Occupy Wallstreet. Bernie took our righteous indignation at corporate bailouts and funneled it back into support for the Democratic Party. I'm glad Mamdani is actually doing his job, but we can not reform the Democratic Party. And while we try to take over the party from within, we are giving fascism, at the behest of the capitalist ruling class that funds both parties, more time to develop and cement itself.

People don't need to be told a watered down version of socialism and then corrected later: we need to tell people that the worsening conditions they experience is a direct result of the capitalist mode of production. We can't even vote our way into maternity leave, universal healthcare, and wages that track productivity--there is zero chance we can vote our way out of capitalism.

Honestly, more men should wear thick soled shoes on causal dates. Women have so much help to boost their natural attractiveness; we gotta even the playing field.
