I'm just happy people can stop telling me "we have to wait till after the election before we can do anything".

They're still not going to do anything, but now they gotta find a new excuse.

The libs got their "blue wave" after spending the last year and a half saying they couldn't do any actual actions cause it'd hurt the Dems chances and Trump has too much power. Now the Dems (at time of writing this) gained 25 seats in the House, 7 seats in the Senate, and 5 new Governors. Are the libs finally gonna stop yelling at everyone wanting to do more than a peaceful protest every 9 months on a weekend? Are they even gonna bother still doing that? Or are they gonna have a new excuse of "we can't till we also have the presidency and the margins are too thin"?

Yeah and many Dems across the country are publicly siding against trans people with BlueMAGA saying "oh they have to do that cause it's a Republican controlled state!! They're lying you'll see when they get elected!! Just support them and their awful beliefs!!!!!"

I don't really think much about what the people who make stuff like movies, games, shows, etc believe. Like I'll talk about a movie I've seen lately or plan on seeing with a group of people and every now and then they'll say "Why do you want to see a movie made by this person that has these bad beliefs?" Cause it looked like something I'd enjoy watching? Most recent one was me saying I want to see Ghost Soldier and got told off for wanting to watch propaganda made by a bunch of MAGA people.

So I love me some older films. Last year I came here and asked for 60s recommendations and got some amazing movie recs. Now I want some from the 50s.

Ones I enjoyed so far are films like:

    • Rear Window
    • Sunset Boulevard
    • Vertigo
    • Scrooge (or A Christmas Carol the one with Alastair Sim)
    • Stalag 17

The only ones I've seen I'm a bit just kind of eh on are Titfield Thunderbolt and Blood of Dracula. I haven't seen anything I think is outright bad though.

Edit to add movies I've seen that people brought up:

    • On the Waterfront
    • Giant
    • Strangers on a Train
    • North by Northwest
    • Dial M for Murder

Hey so I've been getting a bit into videogame versions of pinball. Whether it be just normal pinball or games that use pinball mechanics to do other things. Like I had a ton of fun with Yoku's Island Express. Played through the campaign of Sonic Pinball Party and thought it was ok. I've been recommended Pinball FX and Midnight Magic before. Just curious what else is out there worth playing.

I've been trying to get into the NES library, but not too sure what's some titles worth playing. I've played Popeye and Zelda 1. Popeye was alright, but Zelda 1 I just couldn't get into. I played through the whole thing and didn't really enjoy it all that much. It wasn't bad, just not my thing.

Currently I'm looking to try Arkanoid, Bubble Bobble, Donkey Kong Jr, Donkey Kong Jr Math, Dr. Mario, Mendel Palace, River City Ransom, Terra Cresta, and Tetris. My friend also recommended me Super Mario Bros, Punch-Out, Metroid, and Panic Restaurant. I'm really into racing games and puzzle games, but haven't been enjoying brawlers all that much lately (there's a few I like like the Devil May Cry series, Lego games, and the Batman Arkham series).

I've been getting more and more into films from the 60s with it being one of my favorite decades for movies. I've only seen around 30 films from the decade so I'll give my top and bottom 5 to help a bit.

    Top 5:

    1. Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock
    2. Sound of Music by Robert Wise
    3. Harakiri by Masaki Kobayashi
    4. The Trial by Orson Welles
    5. West Side Story by Jerome Robbins and Robert Wise

    Bottom 5:

    1. Blood of Dracula's Castle by Al Adamson
    2. You Only Live Twice by Lewis Gilbert
    3. Thunderball by Terence Young
    4. One Hundred and One Dalmatians by Wolfgang Reitherman, Clyde Geronimi, and Hamilton Luske
    5. Atragon by Ishiro Honda

I've already been recommended by friends to watch 2001 A Space Odyssey so I'm getting to that one soon. There's a couple oddball films I also have on my list to check out soonish, but wanted to know what else I was missing. As for big films I have seen and left out, yes I've seen High and Low, Charade, Easy Rider, and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

Turn based games tended to be something I sort of stopped getting into as I got older. Despite really enjoying games that involve tons of strategy and thought like Hitman or 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim, I struggled more with games that are turn based. I've tried to get back into them with stuff like Pokemon and the occasional board game sim that I play with my friends, but I just know there's games out there I'd like a lot more.

I do want to give Fire Emblem, Bug Fables, and Sea of Stars a try at some point soon. Was just wondering if there's anything else I'm missing.
