I hear you, I really truly do, but we have to keep pressing. This week has clearly proven that voting still matters and the power remains with the people. The only thing those corporate dems fear more than their corporate masters is the thought of having to find another job. Put the pressure on them and hold them to account. We still have the power, we just have to stay united and use it.

But the ratio to override a presidential veto is codified in the constitution.

My greatest fear is that the honest truth that very little (note: not nothing) can be done to change things even with the change in congressional power will crush the spirit that got us to this moment.

We have to get the message out there that this is just the first leg of a marathon and real change cannot come without the executive branch.

Im hopeful again that the pendulum is swinging back in the direction of progress, but we have to be realistic so we don't get dispirited in the next two years and lose ground in congress even if we take the presidency back from the fascists.

Wow! That's fantastic news. I tried playing on SteamDeck some time ago and it was a mess which was disappointing because it seems like a perfect deck game. I can't wait to play this with my kids!

This so much... I would have easily believed that they paid this creep to show up and blow the dog-whistle.

The response was so perfect that it feels like a campaign stunt.

Now it's blowing up everywhere and people get to see both how incredibly poised Dr. El-Sayed was as he explained his position (especially with the stark comparison to how the GOP typically handles people who ask them unfavorable questions at events) AND that it's really the GOP pulling pathetic stunts like this with paid actors.

This guy and candidates like him give me a tiny glimmer of hope that maybe we can find some real leadership out there and start getting this disaster of the past decade turned around. Small hope mind you, but it's definitely there.
