True. I was being more facetious than anything.

But, if there are not enough Xbox out there to sell this game well, then it will certainly be on PC. Further, Xbox has not ruled out putting games on Playstation (or Switch).

This sounds like my experience. I bought a PS5 for FFXVI thinking FF had grown up. The only word I can use to describe this game is "homework." It felt like I was doing homework the whole time. Boring, repetitive, bloated, and coasting on the FF name. I wanted FFXVI to bring those feelings I had back in my youth. It only reminded me of homework. I finished the game and have wrote off FF since.

As you point out the story was stupid despite a cool world and what seemed like interesting and deep backstory. I liked Clive, Jill, and Cid, but the others characters where one-dimensional. Some of the NPCs were more likable.

Whole heartedly agree with you that gaming journalists have zero integrity. I am all for people liking and enjoying different games/genere/etc. but a 9/10 means almost perfect. This game is far from that.

I know I am late to the party here but the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trilogy just didn't work for me. I played the first game and suddenly my guard was up. Some of the combat is cool, and of course the graphics are better. But every story change from the original was worse, all of the new characters were boring and clearly shoe horned in, and the general game seemed to lack direction despite having solid rails to coast on.

Still, I finished Remake and bought Rebirth and just couldn't. In the first town all the flaws of the remake trilogy were on display. Uninstalled, sold the game, and have zero plans to buy Revolutions (is that the last one?)

I do not see SE capturing the spirit of FF again, which is such a loss.

This happened. Worth the read just for this:

"And now we have Asha Sharma saying that she hopes for Xbox to “entertain more than a billion people each day” while cracking open the bones of its studios and sucking out the marrow. These are the people who have been chosen to shepherd this damaged industry into some kind of glorious future. But they’re in charge right now, and look where we are."

Back in 2018 I played Spec Ops the Line on my Xbox One. I do not remember ever owning the disc version and vaguely remember I bought it for cheap digitally.

I know the game was delisted, but I remember hearing that was just bad news for people who wanted to buy it after the delisting. For those who purchased a license we could continue to download and play it.

Fast forward and I wanted to give it another go so I found it on the store. Store front Spec Ops the Line Page says "You own this game" and I was able to install it to my Xbox Series S. Install looks successful (6.1GB, etc).

When I try to launch the game the Xbox gives me a message "Do you own this game or app?" and to sign in etc. (I am signed in) Tried deleting and reinstalling, etc. Same thing.

Do I need to restore my license or something? When I look at my order history from 2018 I do not see the purchase. However I know I played it (I have unlocked acheevos) and the MS Store says "You own this game" and lets me install.

Any suggestions before I try talking to MS (and probably just being told "Sorry, it is delisted so nothing we can do...?"
