What many people don't realize is that a significant chunk of our oil processing infrastructure in America is designed for Venezuelas oil specifically. It's very thick and that means a very different procedure for refinement. Thinner/watery crude oil from other places in the world is much easier to work with and many other places are already set up to refine that oil. Not everyone in the world is set up to process Venezuelas crude oil.

This also means we can't just get oil somewhere else and run it through those same refineries with the same results. Venezuela has the single largest oil reserves and America spent a lot of time, energy and money to process that oil.

So yes it is about oil, but it's much more complicated than simply "oil".

Mostly unsubstantiated rumors passed around about why certain employees no longer work there. Linus has on multiple occasions admitted he was doing everything for the first time and he didn't always get everything right as the company transitioned from some dudes in a house to a legitimate company.

Some don't like him because of his opinions on things (most of the apple fanboys don't like him because he regularly shits on apple and iPhones).

Some people don't like him because of drama with other YouTubers (mostly Steve from gamers nexus).

As someone who used to watch him daily back when it was just him and Luke doing stupid shit in a regular house and doesn't really watch him much anymore I don't think Linus is an outright bad person. All of us are flawed in many ways. He seems like mostly a good guy and those who have met with him and worked with him that I have met or talked to only ever had nice things to say about him.

The full quote is "I can't stand the word empathy. I think empathy is a made up new age term and it does a lot of damage. Sympathy is a better word, because empathy means you are actually feeling what another person felt, and no one can feel what another person feels."

He was talking about how the democrats use language

I disagreed with the guy on a great many things, but cutting his clips out of context like this is pathetic.

If the data leaks are accurate it was a .30-06 mauser. Which would explain the instant severed spine and gush of blood from the footage. 5.56 just isn't that large of a round and likely would never be able to make that type of wound with one round.

Man... My parents used to kick us outta the house in the morning. They would tell us we could come back inside for lunch around noon but then we had to leave again. We would bike around and get into all kind of shenanigans. Call them from a payphone and instead of saying our name for the call we would just tell them where we were super fast and then they would hear that and decline the call lmao.

As long as we came home before the sun went down or we called them from a friend's house to get approval for a sleep over they didn't really care what we did all day. Good times.

  • My local Costco prices everything at 88 cents because it's in a heavily Chinese neighborhood and the number 8 is considered lucky to them.

It's not always a dog whistle. But in this particular case it might be. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • I've been working with computers and building them my whole life. I am pretty good with windows. I regularly tell potential employers in interviews that I rate my skills with windows computers at about a 6/10. I can probably fix anything you broke, but I am terrified of editing hex code and other things that the IT wizards do with ease.

I can take apart most electronics and put them back together without breaking them which is not a skill that most people possess apparently. Back when I worked at geeksquad I became known as the "laptop keyboard repair guy" in the area. Other stores would literally send people to see me because apparently nobody else can take apart an hp laptop and remember where all of the 47 screws went or do it without ripping a ribbon cable. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  • I spent an entire afternoon talking with family on our patio before someone pointed out that my elbow had been ~6 inches from a black widow the size of a 50ยข coin the entire time. I had never seen such a big widow in my life and I grew up clearing out black widows from our breaker box and wood shed constantly.

  • Oh absolutely. He can pull himself up by his velcro straps and make his business work without government subsidies for once in his life.

That being said I don't have any faith in our government to actually improve anything for general americans when it comes to internet access. Even if the federal government somehow did everything right the states would find a way to regulate and fuck it up.

I have heard people say "would you rather share your emotions with a woman you know or a tree in the woods", but that doesn't really feel like it's an equal question in my head. I am curious if anyone has a better example of the "mens" version of that question.
