I get this and you are 100% right.

But I'm also one of the people that's often bolting ahead, so let me provide my context:

I'm not fit (by any means), but I do have long strides. I go to nature to find peace and tranquillity, but normally I'm wound-up pretty tight.

I'm like a beagle, bouncing around - I need to burn off that energy. So, at the beginning I'll bolt on a head and wait, bolt off again, etc. Eventually, I'll "tucker myself out", I'll have found the peace and tranquillity that brought me to nature and then I can walk with the group.

If I don't "bolt off" and stay with the group, I'm either clipping the back of their heels (not fun for anyone) or I'm tripping over my feet. And if I'm in front, well I'm going to eventually bolt-off. Either way, it's not peaceful or fun for anyone.

That said, I am not one of those "oh hey, you finally caught up" type people. In fact, I make it a habit of waiting until the group is ready to go. I understand, they probably feel more pressure to take a shorter break (cause I've had an addition 10 minutes), but I can't control this.

I've been using one of these USB headphone jacks... and I'd go back to the 3.5 mm audio jack in a heartbeat.

    Why?

    • The USB port collects a lot pocket lint (bigger port = more lint). This gets compressed/packed when you charge it (daily), or plug in the USB audio dongle. Eventually, it becomes harder to clean out - often needing tools.
    • I switched to magnetic USB adaptors. This keeps the dust out, but the magnetic connectors are brittle and the pins are prone to bending/breaking. I often leave the headphone with the USB dongle + the magnetic connector in my pocket. Its an annoying large wad of crap, but now with the magnet in my pocket, it sticks to my keys, coins, etc (which probably bends more pins)

All in all, its just annoying... all because manufacturers ramrod Bluetooth down our throats, charge us more for Bluetooth headphones, force us to leave Bluetooth on 24/7 (so we can use our devices to relay everyone else's tracking pucks/tags) and the manufacturers save $0.03 on each device by not having a headphone jack.

It's just another example of forcing the customer into things they don't want (just like A.I.).

I don't have advice, but I can share my experiences.

When I was young, a family member died (cancer): I soldiered through it. Yes, there were some tears shed, but by and large I just pushed through it.

Fast forward 10+ years, I always felt I never really "processed" it. At least on an emotional level, I was always detached and not really "present". It's been something, I wanted and have been trying to address, but with limited success.

Recently, a close friend was diagnosed with cancer (probably terminal). I am a point in time in life, where I don't need to soldier on. I've emotional grown confident enough, that this time - I'm allowing myself to sit with this pain.

Words cannot express the gut-wrenching sorrow it brings. ...yet, I welcome and allow it. I tell myself that the depth of the sorrow, is relative to the depth of love I have for this person and that I'm capable of carrying. How painfully beautiful it is to "feel" in this moment. At moments, there is a certain catharsis in all the tears being shed.

I've started to play the guitar, just so I can play Smashing Pumpkins "Landslide". I can't sing and I can't play, but I can channel that sorrow into those lyrics in a way, I could never before.

And as much as all this hurts - it also feels healthy, it feels human.

One thing I did was, share this with the people I work with. Not necessarily the deals (effectively what I shared here). I told my boss, it will impact my performance and might require some flexibility in my schedule as I want to be able to support my friend. For me, this was an (accidental) wise move: I'm not expected to "keep it together" ...try as I might, I am failing: anger bleeds out in unexpected ways, I miss details on tasks (cause I'm not focused). And that is "okay", I apologize, people understand the why - some share their tales of grief - and we move on.

tl;dr : give yourself permission to feel, to mourn. Bring people into your life. Be "proud" that the sorrow you carry is purely a reflection of your capacity to love. Hiding from it, suppressing it, won't make it go away.

I know you're being sarcastic, but I think removing cookies and trackers could easily be classified as "self-protection".

But if you shred your blueprints for building a dirty bomb, or delete your contacts to your local drug dealers with the intention of obstructing justice - then, yeah, you're gonna have a bad time.

I thought about this too, but I think you'd still be charged (IANAL).

If you look at what he was charged with:

Tunick was charged because he allegedly “did knowingly destroy, damage, waste, dispose of, and otherwise take any action to delete the digital contents of a Google Pixel cellular phone, for the purpose of preventing and impairing the Government’s lawful authority to take said property into its custody and control.”

So, even if you nuked your phone before going through security or even at home before your flight, I imagine you could still be prosecuted for "knowingly... delete the digital contents... for the purpose of preventing... lawful authorities to take said property into its custody".

It's all based on your intent behind the action and this is what the prosecution and defense would argue.

Ah, right - debridio was the paid torrentio.

I'm really curious if the results justify the additional cost (even if it's $9/yr).

...as I said, I've had horrible results with zilean and comet. If $9 solves that problem, it would be worth it.

Regarding support, heh yeah, I gave up on that a long time ago (hence, why I posted this question on Lemmy ;)

Oh, wow. Thanks for bringing up the hosters lack of reliability.

Every once in awhile, I'll use RD to fetch content on mega or 1fichier. It's not a "must have" feature, but it is kinda handy.

Does torbox have support for mega and 1fichier? I couldn't find a comprehensive list of their supported holsters.

I'd forgotten about RD limiting one account to a single IP. Since torbox would support mutli-ip, it would be nice to not worry about if I'd left the streaming on at home while on the road via mobile (or needing to VPN, etc).

    I appreciate the advice.

Long ago, I explored self-hosting arr-stack and Usenet. For me, it was a lot of work with many moving parts. It was great for obscure content, but being able to just stream content via stremio was a fantastic improvement.

If I'm looking at streaming, premiumize I feel could be overkill (comparing the price to other debris providers).

Thanks for explaining TorBox. It makes much more sense now. I'm going to give them a shot.

Aiostreams is something I've used as well... and you're totally right about the "double edged sword".

I couldn't find "torrentdz", but I did find torrentsdb, which matches your description.

In fact, I'll install torrentsdb and see if it's better/worse than the current comet+zilean combo (with real-debrid).

  •

I had tried using stremio and real-debrid, but since real-debrid started to filter their results and some addons just don't seem reliable any more (ie: torrentio), I think it's time to update or replace my setup.

I would use it for just T.V. and movies, nothing really obscure (maybe older, but popular, shows/movies).

    I had tried:

    • real-debrid (not happy with)
    • self-hosted comet (not happy with)
    • zilean (not happy with)
    • torrentio (I've actually removed it, because it seemed to be broken more often than not, but when it worked it had great results)
    • steaming catalogs (love it)
    • aiolist (atm seems to be broken or I need to upgrade it)

Other than streaming catalogs, I'm struggling to find an add-on which aggregates what's popular/recent now (was using trakt via aiolist).

    What would you suggest?

I have a vague recollection that there was a paid service like torrentio (debrid-link?). Would something like that salvage my real-debrid?

Would I get better results with zilean/comet, if I replaced real-debrid with another debrid service (ie: world-debrid, alldebrid, torbox, etc)?

Ideally, I'd like to keep the costs low, but I'm also getting tired of getting 480 resolution because that's the only thing that comet/zilean can find that exists on real-debrid. Self-hosting could be possible (but I'd like to avoid).

    edit: a couple of words.

Anthropic, the flagship AI company, has inadvertently exposed the source code for its major CLI tool Claude Code. It has already been extracted with mirrors published on GitHub.

Chaofan Shou announced the discovery on X.

“Claude Code source code has been leaked via a map file in their npm registry!” the user posted.

The post immediately stirred the AI community, attracting nearly 10 million views and 1.5 thousand comments.

Claude Code is a massively popular agentic AI coding assistant that runs in terminal. It can edit files and manage entire projects locally. Anthropic’s tool is closed-sourced and distributed as an obfuscated npm package.

However, Anthropic's published npm package containing Claude Code v2.1.88 allegedly exposed the source map file cli.js.map, which contained the full and unobfuscated TypeScript source code.

It appears that Anthropic scrambled to remove the npm package. However, it was too late. Multiple GitHub users already exposed copies of the project.

One of the GitHub repositories has already amassed nearly 30,000 stars and 40,200 forks.

Another one has 425 stars and 520 forks, with many developers dissecting the inner workings of the tool.

The author claims that the leaked Anthropic’s .map file’s size was 57MB, mapping 1,900 files and 512,000 lines of code.

The leaked code includes the core engine for LLM API calls, handling streaming responses, tool-call loops, thinking mode, retry logic, token counting, permission models, tools, etc. Some Hacker News users noted the extensive regex filter containing many swear words for detecting negative sentiment in users' prompts. This leak doesn’t expose the AI models themselves or user data.

Exposed internal logic makes it very easy to reverse-engineer the tool, identify security risks, or steal intellectual property. Users already noted that Claude Code is using axios as its dependency, a tool that was just hacked.

Many GitHub users now advertise their own build of Claude Code. However, they’re risking legal action.

“Just because the source is now 'available' *DOES NOT MEAN IT IS OPEN SOURCE*. You are violating a license if you copy or redistribute the source code, or use their prompts in your next project! Don’t do that,” posted full-stack developer Justin Schroeder on X.

The .map files are typically used by developers fixing programs in software. These plain text files act like a mini map of the original code, helping developers trace where the errors or problems occur. However, .map files usually don’t include the full source code.

Anthropic hasn’t yet released an official statement. Cybernews reached out to the company and will include its response.
