Fall and Fall 2. I don't know why I did this to myself. There's suspension of disbelief and then there's what happens in these movies. But maybe it's just that they're good enough production-wise that you don't judge them as a b-movie, so it's really a compliment.

We had classes where we analyzed parts of the Odyssey, Iliad and other ancient books/plays. I didn't like most of them but at least the Odyssey deserves a full read at some point.

Do you have 2fa turned on? In my experience if it's off Google decides by itself to prompt you for a random second factor like your phone. If the account is not connected to anything else it may decide to not let you log in at all. If 2fa is turned on the behavior is a bit more consistent.

Smaller communities do feel like communities here. Lemmy as a whole is not that big but it still feels pretty public for me. I'm probably more of an introvert than you :p Public conversations like talking with someone on the bus (or like this) scare me a bit but exposure helps.

Still, it's nice you can enjoy these longer convos.

Makes sense I guess. I tend to see comment threads as one-off things and don't pay much attention to usernames. Maybe when you comment more you end up interacting with the same people eventually and if you're lucky they'll remember you too.

It's a bit hard to compare this to outside life as I don't tend to have conversations with strangers. But some people do, so it must work well sometimes.

A convenience store next to a supermarket isn't very convenient unless the supermarket is huge. Most convenience stores tend to be closer to you and stay open more hours than supermarkets. I'm ok paying more for that. Convenience stores here are run by neighborhood people, supermarkets are run by rich businessmen. Starbucks is not that kind of shop though.
