Because it makes the line go up.
The Manifesto was indeed written in a deliberately sensational and popular style compared to his other works. It was meant to convey the ideas to your ordinary and unschooled person.
It is amazing how almost all modern tech means a shittier experience for the consumer with very few benefits which doesn't outweight the negatives. The only ones benefiting from modern tech are oligarchs and people who want to spy on people. And oh yeah the job of your average scammer has also been made much easier.
I haven't watched the Gamers Nexus video(they are the ones doing the research on this subject) yet, but according to their preview in their previous video, it seems they hinted at the fact that some tvs can access the internet even though you don't physically connect them.
I was also of the belief that if you just kept your smart tv dumb then it wouldn't be a problem, but it seems like that is not entirely true.

The "it has always been like this everywhere in the entirety of human history" is a pretty useless and false statement in this context.
The guy who wrote it didn't believe it either, so not exactly a new story.
Yes, but the fact that it is happening in a country which contains the most wealth any nation has ever had in recorded history is quite special.
It's just a stamp. It is clearly smeared. If it was a new tattoo there would be some redness and swelling, which there is none of.
They lured him to agree to do it there with all the gilding in the palace, knowing well that he would have no idea what kind of symbolism signing a peace treaty in Versailles had. But everyone else, France and Iran included, absolutely did.
