It really seems like way too many people are just kinda going "eh, everyone else is doing it. It'd be impossible for the courts to force us to reverse course on this now." Like, there's no way the monkey is going to get the cork back in, might as well just get used to being covered in shit.

It's kind of a bonkers question because they are different technologies with different use cases only related in that they were both used for entertainment. It's almost like "how did trains survive the invention of airplanes?" (or boats and planes).

I really worry about this. It is not my area of expertise by any means. I assume that it is acceptable at coding because the people making it have shoved every line of code they could scrape from the internet (and probably other places) into it. So it can reproduce approximate code to do anything that has been done before. But I worry it can't do anything in a new way. It can't innovate. If no one is writing code that is able to actually think about the code and understand how code works, then we as a species can't innovate anymore either. If it all goes LLM, then we've built every lego shape we will ever make and anything we build from now on has to be able to be built from the bricks we already have.

I worry we are watching the early stages of a technological dark age wash over society.

Yea, the amount of people that were sucking off proton when the mullvad shit hit the fan a couple months back was insane. Apparently proton's brand of fascist leadership is fine. If you tried to point it out, you were brigaded with proton fans trying to "debunk" you.

My last house I lived in for like 5 years and never found the furnace filter... I'm convinced it just didn't have one and the system was raw-dogging the dusty air. I checked the air return vent where I am used to them being, and I checked the furnace in the garage closet. I am glad I moved out before that became a problem...
