So it's just a PC, and they've got some kind of DRM to prevent Xbox exclusive games from running on PC, possibly an emulator for backwards compatibility. Stack this with the new head of Xbox being an AI bro-ette with no games industry experience... probably going to be seeing Xbox sunset in the not too distant future

Gross. I’ve played every Halo game since the beginning.

I never bothered to upgrade my Xbox One and I don’t even feel like I’ve missed out on anything. I recently cancelled my Gamepass, and I’m fucking done with Microsoft. Sorry Master Chief, but fuck you.

My next “console” is going to be a living room PC running Mint with some controllers.

You'll have to pry my steam deck from my cold dead fingers.

The thing I hate about modern tech is it's all so walled off and you're told what you can and cannot do. The deck is such a breath of fresh air. They don't prevent you from going outside the boundaries and they don't make it difficult to do so either.

Betteridge's law of headlines is an adage that states: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no." It is based on the assumption that if the publishers were confident that the answer was yes, they would have presented it as an assertion; by presenting it as a question, they are not accountable for whether it is correct or not.

I had a GameStop gift card that was about to expire or something so I went to look for what was available a few weeks ago. The Xbox section was so fucking small. It was like one single narrow display. PlayStation had like a whole wall. Switch had like three quarters of a wall and that other little quarter was left for the Xbox and for various controllers.

I just looked through the Walmart toy catalog that was mailed to my house this week. It contained a page for Switch 2, PS5, and something called Nex Playground. No Xbox mentioned.

+$130USD in the US on October 3.

Microsoft said the hike is happening due to shifts in the "macroeconomic environment."

    but,

Regions outside of the U.S. are also unaffected by the latest price hikes.

So tariffs, but M$FT can't say it or they'll get spanked by daddy. Lol

This is where MSFT's licensing fees screw over the controller though...

I bought a $50 dongle that allows me to use any bluetooth controller with the xbox, including 8bitdo's ultimate 2c controller(which is $30 currently).

I just still need to verify that i can boot the console with the controller... Recently i learned that if you shake the controller when its turning on and syncing it sends a boot/wake signal, which works for the switch and steamdeck.
