Bad look for the league, saying it didn't consult people on sweeping changes because that would slow things down too much (not a valid argument) and presenting no evidence. Good look on the GMs and head coaches who are pushing back and bringing evidence

Congratulations to the Riders - this team deserved it, and their fanbase certainly does.

This was a very entertaining game, lots of fun to watch. The Riders were the better team for the vast majority - nearly flawless, outside of a handful of penalties.

The Als brought the fight, and even after Alexander re-aggravated his hamstring injury, there was still a sense that they could pull something off.

This was an excellent, thoughtful piece, and a reminder of some of the realities of the game we love. My Dad played for the Ti-Cats in the 60s, but in a backup role, nowhere near the playing time of Gary Chown so he didn't pay the same physical cost. That said, he had former teammates who most definitely did. I'm glad we've made the game safer, and I hope we can continue to do so.

I'll answer what I can, maybe others can fill in the rest. I know we have an Als fan on here. The Als play at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, which is owned by McGill. I think it's close to but not directly on/in the campus - but I'm not sure about that. The Als success given their record was partly due to the East (ie, Argos and Redblacks) being really weak this year. The Bombers crossed over and lost to the Als in the Eastern Semi-Finals

  • Are the Als still at McGill

    They are indeed!

    is their ownership situation stable

As far as I know, but it's not exactly my neighborhood.

what kind of weird run did they go on to make the Grey Cup at barely over .500?

When their starting QB is healthy, they're possibly the best team in the league. For a lot of the season...he was not healthy.

I haven't been following the season very closely, but I have a basic familiarity with CFL. Are the Als still at McGill (I actually saw Johnny Football play there while in town for other reasons... he was "meh."), is their ownership situation stable, and what kind of weird run did they go on to make the Grey Cup at barely over .500?
