Ensuring that a link doesn't expire would make sense to me. My personal interactions with grant on other subjects were positive as well.

Still, there are multiple Discord links on the Atlas, and though some of them match the links found elsewhere online, some appear unique to the Atlas. The one for Toki Pona isn't the same one as on reddit for the same server. The Pixel Anime Faction link isn't found on its subreddit. Both types of links can be used to see the number of people joined, but a unique link would allow to do that with more precision. Same as 3minutes, but it's the only one singled out by grant.

Hiya! I'm the one that submitted the Vylet Pony thing! : P

I just wanted to say, grant personally messaged me and asked about changing the link even though I wouldn't have minded either way. And it was only because I grabbed a temporary invite link instead of the official one, and grant wanted to clarify. Anyways, it was incredibly sweet.

Yea it is, the product description makes note of it

I haven’t had time to get a print of the 2026 canvas to show on there

If you end up placing an order for it you will get the 2026 one tho :)

One thing I didn't mention is that custom Discord invite links are also allowed, even though they track the number of users joined, which is the same type of information as collected by a custom 3minutes link. Yet no "Tracking link" addition from Grant.

@Pandantic@lemmy.world - My original Lemmy instance
@Pandantic@midwest.social - the one I switched to (and currently posting from)

edit: it's also weird, I'm looking back over my old .world one for the first time in 3 years and I have so many 0 upvote comments, and I went into the post and a bunch of people have 0 upvote comments. I wonder what that's about... (not that monte should know just musing)

I love the tiny little Algerian flags dotted around!

I did a heart in a seemingly empty corner (I've since been educated on templates) and a French flag that turned into a border. Oh and a Minecraft diamond helmet under the arcade player, and I wrote Feddit.uk and thanks for my fellow fedditors who came to the rescue and did the Union Jack and internet flags around it.

This was my first Canvas event, I didn't even know there'd be achievements. Finding that I got an achievement for "Nice Coordinate" (Placed a pixel on a coordinate containing 69) gave me a chuckle.

I'm also happy I made it in the top 100 contributors, which I'm only mentioning here because I have nowhere and no one else to brag about it to. I may be a loner who spends their weekends on their computer, but working on a cool collaborative project like this was a wonderful change of pace.

Hahaha i anticipated people missing my joke entirely so i added the first typo to lead into it, but it's a very fine balance of leading the joke and causing exactly what happened here.
It's all just part of the fun!

There was a bug with Authentication in 2023 and 2024 where the Canvas db created separate users if you capitalized you user name and then didn't the next time you logged in. I thought I merged everyone's account, I must have merged yours with the lowercase when I should have chosen the uppercase
